Day Three - Colorado Rocky Mtn High (and Hypoxic!)

This morning we woke up to semi wet streets in Ouray and snow on the higher mtn tops that we could see from town.  Our roll time was 8am.  We rolled out of town with an air temp of 42 ish degrees at 8700 feet.  Taz eas riding near the back of the pack and could see the tension of all the riders ahead as we got closer and closer to the end of the pavement and on to the dirt.  It was wet and slimy right from the get go but we seemed to get good enough traction.  It was really sterp at the start.  But then near the top ot got steep AND we started running into snow as we got higher.  Every one made it up the first pass which was Corkscrew Pass.  We though that was hard then we went up Hurricane Pass, again with snow on it, it was a lot harder but we all made it with only one person flopping over part of the way.  The next two passes were California and Cinnamon Pass.  Tonight we are a remote camp SE of Gunnison.  More pics will be added tomorrow when everyone gets service again!
