Turnin' and Burnin' to Cortez (start of the trail) #COBDR

Well, how do I start?  Eight of us left Silt, CO around 0830 this morning headed for Cortez, CO. We stopped in Silt for another awesome breakfast at Shooters that was delicious.
The weather for the day was, let's say interesting, at the least. It was cloudy and in the 50s when we left...as the day progressed it got sunny and hot.  But before you knew it the temps dropped to nearly 50 and it started raining. And it rained. And it rained. It was rather cold riding, especially when we crossed the 7000' mark. We finally rolled into Cortez around 1800hrs a little on the chilled side.
Just after we got to the hotel we met up with the rest of the crew at the hotel!  Here we hooked up with Barry, Jeremy and Ryan. We're finally all together!  Eleven of us!  The journey is about to begin.
We are hoteling it tonight as there are no real places to camp...but starting Tomorrow we will be in the backcountry and camping most nights. We probably won't have service in most places we camp so we will update the blog as we go through towns and find service.
Tomorrow we will head south to the Four Corners where the route officially begins. There will be more stories and pics to follow.
